Object Heavy, a Humboldt County-based soul band on Color Red, delivers a powerful mix of classic soul, funk, and modern groove. Fronted by vocalist Richard Love and backed by Brian Swislow (keys), Leo Plummer (guitar), Ian Taylor (bass), and Dan Weiss (drums), the group is known for its tight musicianship and dynamic live shows.
Following their album Love & Gravity, produced by Kelly Finnigan of Monophonics, Object Heavy has earned multiple “Best Original Band of Humboldt” honors and gained recognition on Apple Music playlists. With a growing national presence, they’ve shared stages with acts like Galactic and The Motet, building a reputation as a standout live act.
